YouTube developing Shorts that will allow users to upload videos quickly, allowing them to use licensed music on YouTube Music.
The TikTok application has grown more than 125% in the last two years, according to a report by App Annie and has hundreds of millions of users. These numbers make YouTube want to get into that category of apps with a competitive product.
YouTube Shorts is said to be available by the end of this year, but if YouTube wants to stop the momentum of TikTok – especially now that people are locked up at home due to quarantine – they will probably present it sooner.
It will be interesting to see how this fight evolves.
