During today’s Night Wire, CD Projekt RED unveiled the details of Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.6, which will be available in the evening. The update is titled “Edgerunners”, as it will include a series of content inspired by Netflix’s eagerly awaited Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime.
As explained in previous news, the update will officially end CD Projekt support for the old-gen PS4 and Xbox One versions of Cyberpunk 2077: this means that the next patches and the newly announced Phantom Liberty expansion will arrive exclusively on PS5, Xbox Series X | S, PC, and Google Stadia.
As mentioned at the beginning, Patch 1.6 introduces in the game equipable objects taken from the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime, of which a new trailer has been released among other things.
Players will have the opportunity to wear the jacket worn by protagonist David Martinez and use a shotgun used by another character in the series. All accompanied by three new contracts: “Concrete Trap”, “Extreme Remedies” and “Bad Aftermath”, another 6 melee weapons and 5 melee.
In addition to the items inspired by Edgerunners, the update also introduces a number of features to the game, including a system of transmog for clothes, which therefore allows players to dress V however they want regardless of the statistics.
The news does not end there, because the cross-platform progression will also arrive, and arcade cabinets will be introduced into the game world that including the Roach Race minigame, which among other things will be available as a standalone game for iOS and Android. CD Projekt also talked about the gameplay changes that will come from Patch 1.7 onwards, with the behavior of law enforcement and vehicle-fighting being completely revised.
