Local use of cheating plug-ins was the most common form of cheating in the game in the earlier days of the game. However, as our ability to detect cheating continued to improve and as we took more stringent action against cheaters, the security system is now able to quickly detect local use of cheating plug-ins and ban the accounts involved. As a result, cheaters have started to use a more obscure cheating method such as cheating through the use of the spectating system.
After becoming aware of this method of cheating through the use of the spectating system, we immediately took stringent and ongoing action to ban the accounts involved and have managed to effectively curb this method of cheating. However, as this form of cheating involves a long chain, is rather complicated, and is obscure and difficult to detect, the damage it deals with the fair gaming environment increases daily and we hope to target this form of cheating from the source.
Therefore, we have made a new round of upgrades and adjustments to the spectating system, mainly to add a peer review mechanism to the spectate system. The game server will determine in real-time whether a player is visible in the view of the host to decide whether or not to transmit the location data of a player to spectators. The upgrades and adjustments to the spectating system are made to achieve 2 key things:
- Resolve cheating through the use of the spectating system and improve the gaming environment.
- Improve the performance of the spectating system.
We will implement this security solution as soon as possible and believe that this will deal a heavy blow to cheaters through this method.
Explanation of the Principles of the Spectating System
To help players understand how this new solution will help resolve cheating through the use of the spectating system, we will explain some basic principles of the spectating system as follows. The spectating system involves 3 main roles:
- Host (the client of the character who is playing in the match)
- A game server (the server that receives, transmits, and processes the various combat data of users)
- Spectator (the client of the user who is spectating the match and receives the combat data transmitted by the game server)
The cheating user will use two mobile phones. The host will play the match normally and get the spectator to use an x-ray vision plug-in to cheat. The game server will determine in real-time whether a player is visible in the view of the host. If it determines that a player is not visible in the view of the host, it will not transmit the location data of the player to spectators. When the server determines that a player is visible in the view of the host, it will start to transmit the location data of the player to spectators.
We believe that more experienced players must know that shooter games are a disaster zone for cheating and x-ray vision is one of the most difficult forms of cheating to combat.
As the direct and indirect use of x-ray vision to cheat may continue to evolve in the future, we will continue to enhance the security of the game in all aspects and improve our ability to detect new forms of cheating. Cheaters will receive a 10-year account ban.
