Xiaomi has recently been informed about its Xiaomi App Store that has detected 1,105 compliant apps, due to “the privacy policy does not have a rejection button”, “no account logout function” and other violations have accumulated. There are a total of 915 apps were rectified within a time limit, and 114 apps were removed from the store due to issues such as “containing viruses, Trojan horses and other functions that infringe users”.
The Xiaomi App Store stated that it actively implements platform management responsibilities and insists on submitting the list of privacy-violating apps to the regulatory authorities on a daily basis. It will give priority to developers to rectify themselves within the specified time limit, and then remove the app for problems such as overdue rectification or refusal to cooperate.
To recall in August 2021, the Xiaomi platform detected 1,350 compliant apps. Due to violations such as “the privacy policy does not have a rejection button”, “no account logout function” and other violations, 1,188 apps have been rectified within a time limit due to “contained viruses, Trojan horses, etc.” A total of 92 apps were removed from the shelves and dealt with issues such as “infringement of user functions”.
