Samsung rolling out the June 2020 patch update for Galaxy S20 Series

The Samsung Galaxy S series is a line of Android-powered mobile devices produced by Samsung Electronics. The series consisted initially of smartphones and the first device, the Samsung Galaxy S, was announced in March 2010 and released for sale in June of that year. Samsung later expanded the Galaxy S line to tablet computers with the announcement of the Galaxy Tab S in June 2014 and released the next month. As of April 2020, the latest smartphones in the Galaxy S series are the Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra, all released on 6 March 2020, and the latest tablet is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 released on 31 July 2019.

Samsung has started rolling out the June 2020 security patch for the Samsung Galaxy S20 Series smartphone users in Nordic countries. It comes with new camera zoom options. The latest update brings version number G981BXXU2ATF5, G986BXXU2ATF5, and G988BXXU2ATF5 for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra respectively.

According to Sammobile, this update “changes the way close-up zoom functions by enabling 2x zoom instead of 1.5x zoom. Furthermore, the Use close-up zoom pop-up text has been changed to read Tap here, then back up a bit for better focus. It should make the function’s purpose a little bit clearer.”

Samsung has started rolling out the new software update for the unlocked Samsung Galaxy S20 series smartphone users in the US. This update brings some camera improvements. It has the same June 2020 security patch. The device has already received the latest security patch last week. The latest update brings version number G981U1UEU1ATF1 for Galaxy S20, G986U1UEU1ATF1 for Galaxy S20+, and G988U1UEU1ATF1 for Galaxy S20 Ultra and the size of this update is around 440MB.
