Apple stated at the Indian Technology Summit that Apple has supported approximately one million jobs in India through its local application economy .
Priya Balasubramaniam, Apple’s vice president of product operations, talked about the company’s plans in India at the Bangalore Technology Summit. Balasubramaniam said that Apple currently supports a wide range of jobs through direct employment, application economy and local supply partners.
In addition, Balasubramaniam also stated: “ Apple is planning to expand and is experimenting with new manufacturing processes in India. Apple is investing heavily in the Indian market to expand its influence and contact more local suppliers. The nature of the manufacturing industry is fast. India can also play a role in this transformation.”
There are recent media reports that in the future, after Cook leaves Apple, Apple will reorganize its executive team, and Balasubramaniam may take over as senior vice president of operations.
