Huawei suppliers are trying to catch up with the US deadline

It has been more than a year since the US shut down Huawei and banned US companies from working with it. A lot has happened since then, but as it turns out, this story is coming to an end.

The latest measures announced

On August 17, the US government announced that from now on, any US company wishing to work with Huawei would have to apply to the Department of Commerce and obtain a permit. The same goes for companies that use American technologies in their products, whether they are US based or not.

Acknowledging the fact that there are orders that have been placed before the implementation of the above measures, the US announced that the companies that have taken the specific orders must complete them before September 14.

The expiration of the deadline and the moves of the companies

According to newer reports, several Huawei executives are contacting their suppliers to put pressure on them to complete their orders. Reports say that in some cases communications take place even at 4 in the morning. This proves that the company is trying in every way and means to meet the deadline set by the US, which expires in about three weeks.

It is worth noting that Huawei managed to secure only 15 million Kirin 9000, which it will use in the Mate 40 series. From then on, it will continue to manufacture processors in smaller units in China.

These units do not have the ability to manufacture high-end chips, and this could lead the company to discontinue flagship smartphones for at least 2 years.
