Microsoft in back 2019 announced that it will add “optional update” option to the Windows Update settings page. By this section, users can manage optional updates, such as drivers, monthly feature updates, and non-security patches.
This is reflected in the release notes of Microsoft Windows 10 20H1 Build 19035: Microsoft said that currently the official has completed an experiment on how to push driver updates through Windows Update, and the devices involved in the experiment will not be in “Settings” > See “Optional Updates” link under “Windows Update.”
Microsoft originally planned to add drivers, feature updates, and monthly updates to “View optional updates.” From Microsoft’s timeline, the Windows 10 20H2 update is expected to be pushed from October to November 2020, and this update is expected to be an update similar to the Service Pack.
