The US Department of Commerce is close to issuing a new regulation to allow US companies and Huawei to participate in the new generation of 5G network standards Formulate. It is reported that since the US Department of Commerce listed Huawei as an “entity list”, some US technology company engineers have stopped working with Huawei to develop standards, and this new regulation is not yet sure which technologies and technologies that US companies can be allowed to share with Huawei information.
According to the First Financial Report, Huawei ’s US Chief Security Officer responded that this rule change does not involve the issue of who can buy and sell products to Huawei. Allowing Huawei to participate in standard setting is beneficial to all communication technology participants.
The US government said it would extend Huawei ’s temporary license until May 15 to allow US companies to conduct business with Huawei.
Since May 2019, the U.S. Department of Commerce has included Huawei on the list of entities for national security reasons. However, the department has subsequently extended the temporary licensing restrictions several times.
